An age-old trick for making a container look filled in video games without requiring hundreds of models (resource-expensive to run) is to have an infill layer with a couple of the objects on top. An example could be a market stall with fruit and veg, where you have crates of produce. This could be added to the "style" options for a crate with the contents type being configurable similarly to model texture option (e.g. wood, fabric).
For example, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, lettuces, cabbages, mushrooms, bananas, apples, oranges, grapes.
That way the player can more easily give the impression of a busy location, such as a market, without having to manually price each item and it's more performance friendly.
