More disability living aids and BETTER aids!
Kaz Miller
I'm really happy we have living aids at all in HF2 but there's some huge ones I feel are missing that I would really like to see added:
- Electric wheelchairs (both lightweight and heavy weight)
- Walkers, rollators and knee walkers
- Manual wheelchairs that look like custom wheelchairs and not hospital wheelchairs (the one in game is a hospital wheelchair - most disabled people do NOT use these)
- Shower chairs!!
- Kitchen sink bench tops with a space underneath them intended for a wheelchair to fit under - would like to see this also with standard kitchen benches
- Different types of walking canes (cane with 4 feet, fancy canes)
- Prosthetic arms and legs
- Beds with a raised back
- Wedge pillows for beds, orthopedic pillows, body pillows and pregnancy pillows
- IV stands, blood pressure monitors, heart rate monitors, etc
- Bed hoists
- Mobility scooters
- Recliner arm chairs
- Chair lifts for stairs (could be added as a railing option?)
Other feedback:
It would be useful if we could properly label the living aids already in game. Both crutch options are just labelled "crutch" rather than "under arm crutch" and "forearm crutch" - the same goes for the grab railings.
I'd really like to see at least a few of these items added into the game as the current selection is essentially based on temporary hospital equipment that someone might use for maximum a few months if they were ill. The designs and types of equipment are not representative of the types of equipment those of us who are disabled or ill long-term actually use at home daily.

And signs for handicap accessible restrooms and parking. Also, ramps that work similarly to stairs, with the ability to add rails to one or both sides.

In the same vein, I'd like to be able to make a ramp to get up into a house, instead of these weird plank things like one uses to load things into the back of a pickup truck.

Yes!! I'd love to see some proper ramps too. No one I know has a ramp like that for their wheelchairs and I don't either, it's pretty much always a full width ramp.
Cynthia Betts
Until we get actual ramps, there is a workaround. Use the prism piece to create the ramp. Then shrink the width and add really narrow stairs with railings right next to it. Then resize both so that you have a full width ramp with railings. You might have to adjust the stairs a bit so the steps don't show through the ramp. I've done this in story mode.
