I would love the option to make ponds in Story Mode too. I've seen beautiful ones done in Sandbox mode, but why can't we have that in Story Mode too?

I think you can use the pond rocks with the pool and make some pretty cool ponds in story mode. Soon I’ll be brave enough to sell my miniature golf course and put it in sandbox mode.
