I kind of agree with this.

During my childhood, in places I lived, even the house I currently live in, has partial stainless steel counter top.

The part where the sink is, 2 sinks but it would have space for 5 sinks.

And then there is wooden countertop on the other wall.

It was quite common since 50's to early 00's
