Change the Console Control Scheme ASAP

Is anyone else struggling with console controls? I certainly am.
The buttons its telling me to press arent the right ones, one minute A is the select button the next its X its incoherent. Constantly pressing R2 to pick up trash is probably fine on a mouse but on a controller its an utter chore (a hold to pick up would have been easier so you just keep it held and go around like with hoover on HF1), theyve moved what was the L2 function to B instead of the simple and easy R2 pick up L2 back, and it made me press 2 buttons to finish the job.
It doesnt let me place things smoothly and control the rotation with L1/R1, now i have to press stiff arrow keys 10 times to get an aproximation of what i want.
I love Frozen District and its developers, but im compelled to ask did they even play this on console before releasing it. The controls make sense on PC but on a controller theyre extremely jenky and frustrating. They have deviated so much from the smooth, responsive controls of house flipper 1, changed buttons like crouch for seemingly no reason and the controls make the game more difficult than it needs to be especially compared with PC.
None the less its a great game and i love the new items and features its just the controls are reducing my enjoyment quite a bit.

I’m having this issue with the button mapping with my steam controller. The suggested and provided layout is not suitable and I’ve had to do a lot of custom button mapping. I made it so LT+RT finishes the job

For me the instructions randomly switch between desktop and console, also some of them are unclear. The first time I played on my steam deck I got stuck for a bit because it said press tablet button to end job, but what they meant was press and hold button. I was checking the tablet for ways to finish the job for 10 minutes.

J On steam deck the trackpads are considered mouse input, using it will make the game switch from controller button icons to keyboard/mouse icons. This is something that happens in many games while playing on steam deck. Using any controller input (so anything but the trackpad) will change it back. A workaround, if you are truly bothered by the switching, would be to map the trackpad to a joystick function, it does significantly change the behaviour of the input though.

I’m not having this problem.
