Larger lot sizes
Adam Duvall
I believe the largest lot sizes in career mode are 1600 m^2. That's about 0.395 in acres. Could we get at least a half acre (2023.43 m^2)? Ideally 2 or more acres would be awesome, but I don't ever see House Flipper lots getting that big. I was just thinking when doing the amusement park build how small and unrealistic it is.

You can change your environment to "island" and resize it infinitely. Then you can change it back and it will keep that size. However some environments (mainly downtown pinnacove) start to bug out visually

Rylee Statler You mean in sandbox mode? I mostly play in career mode. In my comment I was saying how small the property is for an amusement park.
Rylee Statler
Adam Duvall Oh yea, that's only in sandbox. Though you could technically move a property from to career to sandbox, expand it, then move it back.
Adam Duvall
Rylee Statler are you saying it's possible to build a house in sandbox and add it to the map in career mode? I don't think I understand what your last comment meant.
Adam Duvall
So, your comment sparked my interest. I found a youtube video where you can move houses between career mode and sandbox. As far as I can tell, you cannot do it in game. You have to do it by copy/pasting the house save files. Also, I don't see how you are able to expand the lot in sandbox mode larger than 1600m^2, then put it back in career mode. So, I'm still a bit confused by your comment. I would be very interested if there was indeed a way to do this.
On a side note....I erased a bunch of the land under the amusement park and now there are holes into the abyss around the park. I should probably learn how to use sandbox mode more effectively ;)

Rylee Statler Infinitely? Hyperbole aside, every attempt I've made to resize the island beyond 750 x 750 (5.74 acres) causes the game to crash.
Rylee Statler
Adam Duvall You have to change it to the "island" environment, for some reason that environment doesn't have the same restrictions as the other environments. You can still change the environment back once you're done resizing.
Rylee Statler
David Carter okay, theoretically infinitely. The game just isn't trying to stop you like the other environments

Rylee Statler Hey, Rylee. So, I've done quite a bit of experimenting with sandbox over the past few weeks. Here's what I found:
1) I copy/pasted the closed amusement park game file under the "Houses" folder into the "Sandbox Houses" folder. Then put the environment to island like you suggested. I used Edit Land Borders to make the island stupid big. Then I changed the environment to Coast. Saved the file. Copy/pasted back from "Sandbox Houses" to "Houses" folder.
2) I went into the regular career/story mode game. I pulled up the amusement park property on the computer. When it loads, the water is gone. I attached a screenshot.
3) If I go back to Sandbox mode, the water is still missing while in the Coast environment. Except that when I go to the settings to change the environment back to Island, it says the environment is in the Suburbs...weird. I changed the environment back to Island, and all is well again. The water is back, but this only seems to work on the Island environment. I can keep the environment Island, and copy/paste the file into career/story mode and it will work. So, you can have an island property in story/career mode moved over from sandbox. Anything other than the Island environment seems to cause issues. At least that's what I've experienced.

4) Technically, I think you can change the environment, make it bigger, then move it back to story/career mode as you have said. However, the game REALLY does not like this. So, I am keeping this post up. I think moving houses from sandbox to career/story mode should be supported in-game. To me, what would make the most sense for the devs is to only have story/career mode. Have sandbox mode be an option in your settings, not a totally different mode from the main menu. You just play the game as normal, and if you want to edit a property using sandbox mode, just press Esc key and switch over to Sandbox mode in the game settings. Also have an option in the Esc menu to import mod.io properties into the game. When you're done, just save the property, go back to your home, and you can access the property you just imported from mod.io or the sandbox property from your computer like you normally do in story/career mode. To me, it seems way easier to navigate and have the properties available in story/career mode or sandbox mode in the same place.
5) For now, I am enjoying the island life. The idea is to build a little seaside town with the amusement park and add stuff like a mini gold course, arcade, bars/restaurants, and hotel. Not sure how far I'll get before the game crashes. We'll see.
