Mini-map and surface

People keep asking for this over and over, and I've read explanations from the devs on why this just isn't possible in HF2, but I have interpreted these as focused on the challenge of representing the location of cleaning targets. Even if the maps were manually created in HF1 and no dynamic mapping solution ever existed, the solution to dynamic mapping of the structure alone seems like it would primarily depend upon a function that provided a 2D representation for two adjacent horizontal planes of space that contained building blocks. There are only 130 horizontal planes of buildable space within each property, regardless of dimensions. When not in flying mode, the player's avatar is located with a defined x/y/z coordinate relative to any given plane. I suspect there is a way to provide some workable solution to this problem - it would just function and look differently from the maps that are in HF1. Maybe it wouldn't be "acceptable" to everyone, but could be part of some "advanced" play mode that revealed various numeric spatial data and other "under the hood" info to the player. To be clear, such a map probably could not show the location of dirt or trash needing attention, it would just represent the structural layout of the building.
